This game showed how far this team has come since the opening game of the season. In that game Summit required a bit of good fortune to squeak out a 1 point victory over a Union. This time, after a slow start, Summit took command and increased its lead in each of the first three quarters. The lead was 11 going into the final quarter. Midway through the 4th quarter the lead was 13 and Summit coasted to victory.
One of the keys to victory was a strong defense that forced an inordinate number of turnovers from a bigger Union squad. The margin of victory might have been even larger had Summit had a better day at the foul line, where they connected on only 8 of 20 attempts. As usual, the big three, dominated Summit's scoring. Nicole Johnson led the scoring with 17 points. Kate Martino (15 points) and Kelly Osmulski (12 points) were in double digits.
Before the game began Summit's two graduating seniors, Cristina Ciaravalli and Jasmine Sondi, were honored.
