| Summit traveled to West Essex for the final game of the regular season. West Essex had a record of 17-6 and was the #1 seed in their section of the State Tournament. So they had to be considered a strong favorite. After a slow start, Summit deliver 15 1st quarter points to take a 2 point lead. West Essex rallied in the 2nd quarter to end the half ahead 28-27. Summit stepped up the defense in the second half and grabbed a 3 point lead behind 9 points by Kate Martino and 5 points from Nicole Johnson.
The 4th quarter began with a 3-pointer by West Essex to tie the game. However, Martino answered with 2 free throws and a trey. A free throw by Osmulski and two more by Johnson preceded another 3 pointer by Martino that gave Summit an 11 point lead with a little over 3 minute left. That lead looked pretty solid until West Essex's #4 drained two consecutive 3's. Suddenly the lead was cut to five with 1:47 left to play. A Martino field goal was answered by West Essex before two FGs by Amanda Murphy and and one by Kelly Osmulski sealed the victory.
