Wed 12/29 TBA Away Rahway Tournament Summit sophomores Nick Abbott (130 lbs) and A.J. Iarussi (171 lbs) were crowned Champions of the Rahway Tournament held on December 29, 2010.

To claim his crown, Iarussi pinned Mark Vinegra of A.L. Johnson in 0:50, defeated Aziz Sarbashhev of Linden 9-5, and in the championship finals pinned Carlos Daza of Rahway in 0:41. Abbott defeated Diego Ataca of Linden 7-3, then defeated Alex Lopez of Columbia 8-3 on his way to the championship finals where he pinned Christian Chavez of Rahway in 5:25.

Sat 1/8 TBA Away Delaware Valley JV Tournament Three Summit wrestlers, junior Manny Navas, sophomore Diego Barquero and freshman Colum Dougherty, took 2nd place honors at the Delaware Valley JV Tournament.  The team also had two third place winners, sophomores Andre Zeledon and Dan Kennedy, and two fourth place finishers in sophomore Brandon Pollack and freshman Nick Testa.  Other Summit wrestlers who won matches at the tournament were freshman Tyler Bowlin and sophomores Jon Bayani and Sam Grewcock.
 
At 125 lbs, Barquero decisioned Anthony Peter-Paul of Delaware Valley and pinned Sam Nubile of Kittatinny before losing to Austin McLaughlin of Delaware Valley in the finals. 

At 130 lbs, Dougherty decisioned Aiden Burgyone of Bergen Catholic and pinned Kris Rivero of Warren Hills before losing to Broderick Bupivi of Philipsburg in the finals. 

At 171 lbs, Navas had a bye in the first round and decisioned Max Vranken of North Hunterdon before losing to Brandon Perez of Bergen Catholic in the finals. 

At 140 lbs, Zeledon pinned Will Kimball of Delaware Valley before losing in the semi-finals, but then decisioned Jimmy Merent of Union to earn the 3rd place medal. 

At 145 lbs, Kennedy pinned Cody Kubinak of Warren Hills before losing a close match in the semi-finals, then decisioned Brandon Luna of Perth Amboy to earn the 3rd place medal.

Sat 1/22 9AM Away Union County Varsity Tournament Summit sophomore Nick Abbott took 3rd place honors and Summit sophomore A.J. Iarussi placed 4th at the Union County varsity wrestling championship tournament held on January 22, 2011 at Union High School.    Summit placed 12th in the 14 team tournament, competing at the Union County varsity championship for the first time since the mid-1990s.
 
At 130 pounds, Abbott won his first round match 7-0 over Jeremy Klein of Governor Livingston, and then pinned Brearley senior Dominick Martinez in 2:28 to make it to the semi-finals, where he was defeated 6-0 by eventual champion Kyle Markovitch of Cranford.  Coming back from the defeat, Abbott then pinned Christian Chavez of Rahway in 3:04 and defeated senior Adrian Betancourt of Linden 16-5 to earn the 3rd place medal in Union County.
 
At 171 pounds, Iarussi had a first round bye and then decisioned Aziz Sarbashev of Linden 7-1 to make it to the semi-finals, where he was defeated by the eventual champion Vic Pozsonyi of Roselle Park.  After that, Iarussi scored a first period pin over Bilal Smith-McCloud of host Union before losing to Shane Haddad of Governor Livingston to complete a 4th place finish in Union County.

Fri/Sat 2/18-19 TBA Away NJSIAA District 10 Tournament/Millburn Summit's varsity wrestling team participated in the District X wrestling tournament at Millburn High School , placing 7th in the 10 team competition.

The highlight of the event for Summit fans came at 130 pounds, where Summit sophomore Nick Abbott won the finals to become Summit's first District champion since 1994. Summit's other outstanding sophomore wrestler A.J. Iarussi also reached the finals, placing second at 171 pounds, while senior captain Zach Tolles (at 152 pounds) and freshman Nick Testa (at 112 pounds) each placed 4th in the District.

Second seeded Abbott reached the District finals by pinning Lindley Jean-Philippe of Irvington in the quarter finals and then defeated Robert Marcantonio of Union 8-2 in the semifinals. To earn the 130 pound championship, Abbott decisioned Columbia senior (and returning District place winner) Alex Lopez 5-2, scoring takedowns in the second and third periods to secure the victory.

At 171 pounds, third seeded Iarussi pinned Nick Haboj of Madison in the quarterfinals and then scored a first period pin over Millburn senior and returning District runner up Danny Freeman. In the finals, Iarussi lost a hard fought decision to Roselle Park's returning District champion Vic Pozsonyi (who is currently ranked 6th in New Jersey by The Star Ledger).

Abbott and Iarussi move on to compete in the Region 3 tournament in Union, where the top three finishers will qualify for the New Jersey state wrestling championship meet.
Tues 2/22 TBA Away NJSIAA Regional 3 Tournament The first day of the Region 3 wrestling tournament was a good one for Summit's two remaining competitors.

At 171 pounds, Summit sophomore A.J. Iarussi won by a dominating score of 17-1, achieving a technical fall over Ezekiel Villafana of Elizabeth.

At 130 pounds, Summit sophomore Nick Abbott advanced with a first round bye.

Both are among the 8 wrestlers in their weight class to advance to the semifinals Friday night at Union High School.
Fri/Sat 2/25-26 TBA Away NJSIAA Regional Tournament Summit's varsity wrestling season concluded with the Region 3 tournament at Union High School February 25-26, and for the first time since 1994 Summit had a Region placewinner.  At 130 pounds, Summit sophomore Nick Abbott took 4th place (one place short of qualifying for the state tournament in Atlantic City).  Abbott lost in Friday's quarterfinals 6-0 to Cranford senior Kyle Markovitch, but fought back Saturday to win the quarterfinal wrestleback by a 5-2 score over Brearley senior Dom Martinez and then he received a forfeit in the semi-final wrestleback over Seton Hall Prep's Ben Conover, thus gaining the consolation finals where he was again defeated by Cranford's Markovitch to finish in 4th place. 

Summit's other Region participant was sophomore A.J. Iarussi, who was defeated in Friday's quaterfinals by Brearley senior Dillon Geoghegan (who is ranked 7th in the state by the Star Ledger) and then lost in the quarterfinal wrestleback to Parsippany senior James Morgan to finish in the 7th/8th position in Region 3.
