Summit took on Chatham in the opening round of the Chatham Invitational. It was perfect weather for baseball. Summit took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 4th. Sean Guida singled and stole 2nd base. He scored when Chatham's short stop over threw first base on Justin Vitti's ground ball. Chatham quickly tied the score in the bottom of the inning on a pair of singles. They proceeded to load the bases, with only one out, on two more singles and a Summit error. A big Chatham inning was averted when James Baumeister rose to the occasion and struck out the the next two batters.
Summit got back on top when Andrew Oristanio led off with a single and stole 2nd. With one out, Nick Abbott singled to drive him in. Unfortunately, Chatham rallied for 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th. Aided by a couple of wild pitches. Summit was scoreless in the 6th. Tanner Fulton started off the 7th with single, but Summit couldn't get him home.
