It was a beautiful morning for a baseball game, but it didn't go well for Summit. Johnson tagged James Baumeister for 5 runs on 6 hits during the 3 innings he pitched. He wasn't helped by some careless play and three errors, but they weren't really decisive in the outcome. John Floegel gave up 2 more runs in the 4th and was relieved starting the 5th inning. The bull pen collapsed in the 5th inning, giving up 8 runs on 4 hits and 6 walks.
All the errors and walks really didn't decide the outcome since the Johnson pitcher completely handcuffed the Summit offense. Summit managed only 2 singles over five innings.
