Oratory's pitcher held Summit to only 5 hits and only 2 runs, that came in the second inning. Oratory picked up 3 runs in the 1st inning on a walk, a single and a home run. It turns out that was all they would need to win.
Summit's two runs came when John Floegel got on via an error, Justin Vitti singled, Berardi walked but was out when Nick Abbott hit into a fielder's choice, Seth Ryan had his second single of the game driving in Floegel. A ground ball by Mike Nitzberg tried to force Abbott at 3rd but his speed anda diving slide beat the throw, averting the 3rd out and allowing Vitti to score. That left the bases full with 2 out, but a towering fly to the center fielder ended the inning. Summit never really seriously threatened again.
