John Floegel scattered 4 hits and shutout Plainfield in a 5 inning game ended under the mercy rule. Floegel was supported by an offense that cut loose with 11 runs on 13 hits.

Summit started the 1st inning with a bang , scoring 4 runs on four singles by Seth Ryan, Sean Guida, Justin Vitti, and David Berardi plus a triple by Tanner Fulton. Three more runs came in the 3rd inning. Kyle Fries had a 1 out single, Berardi walked , Floegel was on via an error, Nick Abbott drew a walk and Ryan had his 2nd single of the game

The final 4 runs came in the 4th inning. Guida led off with a double and Kyle Fries singled, Mike Bredahl singled, Floegel singled, and Abbott singled. Along the way a couple of Plainfield errors helped Summit out.

An unusual double play occured in the 2nd inning. With Plainfield runners on 1st and 2nd and one out the Plainfield batter hia Texas leaquer over 2nd base. Abbott made a diving attempt and most of the fans felt he hadn't caught the ball. So did the Plainfield runners as they took off for 2nd and 3rd. However, Abbott had caught ball and he threw the runner out at 3rd, ending the inning.
