Doubles: Oristanio(1)
|
Andrew Oristanio pitched a terrific complete game, allowing only 3 hits and 2 earned runs. Unfortunately, he didn't get the fielding support he deserved. Four infield error led directly to 4 unearned runs. Roselle Catholic got one of their two earned runs in the top of the 1st inning on a pair of singles. They would get only one more hit the entire game. An unearned run in the 2nd gave them a 2-0 lead.Summit tied the game in the bottom of the 4th inning. Sean Guida laid down a perfect one out bunt and beat the throw to 1st base. That was followed by an Oristanio double. With men at 2nd and 3rd, a ground ball scored Guida and Oristanio scored on a throwing error by the pitcher. Roselle Catholic regained the lead in in the 5th. RC had a one out single, their last hit of the game. A walk and hit batter loaded the bases. An infield error allowed allowed 2 runs to score.
Summit got back to within one run when David Berardi started the inning with a single and Nick Abbott singled to right-center. Berardi scored on Seth Ryan's fielder's choice. Roselle Catholic added two more unearned runs in the 7th to put the game out of reach.
