Summit took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning in a somewhat unusual way. The St. Mary pitcher struck out the side, but in between strike outs he gave up 1 hit, walked 2, hit 2 , threw 3 run scoring wild pitches and personally made 3 of the 4 major errors. The net result was 5 run.

Meanwhile, Freshman Eric Kaufman was pitching a splendid game. He shut out St. Mary, allowing only 4 hits and stiking out 6 in the mercy shortened 5 inning game.

Summit gained 3 more runs in the 4th inning. Kyle Fries hit a one out single, eventuall geting to 3rd on a wild pitch. Freshman Cam Fuoti singled to drive in Fries. James Baumeister drew a walk, Mike Bredahl drove in Fuoti on a fielders choice and Tanner Fulton singled to score Bredahl.

Summit's final 2 runs came in the 5th. Seth Ryan got things started with a double, moved to 3rd on a ground out and scored on a passed ball. Sean Guida was walked and Kyle Fries was hit by the pitcher for the 2nd time in the game to advance Guida to 2nd. Guida scored the game ending run on an error by the 1st basaman.
