This was an unusual game. Summit struck with such rapidity that the score was 42-0 early in the 3rd quarter and Summit had only run 13 plays from scrimmage. In contrast, Brearley had run 39 plays from scrimmage at the same point. Summit scored easily on their first five possessions. Summit took the opening kickoff and went 62 yards in six plays. The two key plays were 23 yard catch by Will Weber and a 20 yard run by Kyre Negron. Summit's next possession, a 55 yard drive, took just two plays. A 35 yard run by Ryan Bringewatt and a 20 yard pass to Luke Stephens. Summit's next opportunity came when Andrew Miller put a big hit on a Brearley receiver, loosened the receivers grip on the ball and Miller took the ball away for an interception. On the next play AJ Iarussi ran 76 yards for Summit's third score. The last score of the half came when Brearley inexplicably faked a punt on 4th and 6 from their own 16 yard line and failed. Three plays later Negron scored from the 6.
The 2nd half began with Summit kicking off. Summit forced a 3 and out situation and the punt gave Summit the ball on their 38, On the next play Mike Badgley ran 62 yards for the fifth Summit TD. To add insult to injury, on Brearley's next play they fumbled and Nick Liberato scooped up the ball and ran 17 yards for the final TD. The mercy rule running clock was in effect after 2 minutes of the second half and the game ended quickly.
This was Summit's 27th consecutive regular season victory. Summit has averaged 45 points per game during this season.
