For the second week in a row Summit faced an unbeaten team. This time it was to decide who would be the conference champion. You might be tempted, based on the final score, to think that this game was a walk in the sun, you would be wrong. Cranford took rhe opening kick off and ripped through the Summit defense for a touchdown. Going 77 yards in just 6 plays. That gave notice that they could score quickly. Fortunately, Summit responded on the next possession with an eight play, 60 yard, drive to knot the score at 7-7. Ryan Bringewatt scored the TD on a 20 yard run. As usual, Mike Badgley kicked the first of 7 extra points. The Summit defense forced a punt on Cranford's next possession. Summit moved from their 41 to the Cranford 14, highlighted by two receptions by Luke Stephens (for 9 and 18 yards) and one by AJ Iarussi (23 yards). The drive was hindered by 20 yards of penalties and ultimately ended with a missed field goal. So the quarter ended with the score tied 7-7.

Late in the 2nd quarter Summit got a drive going that included two more recptions by Stephens (11 & 15 yards), and one by Will Weber (10 yards). Iarussi's running culminated in an 11 yard run for the TD. With 3:40 left on the clock Summit finally had the a 14-7 lead. Cranford came right back and completed two passes that moved to the Summit 30. However, Seth Ryan put a huge hit on the receiver, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Mike Badgley. Summit took advantage of the turnover and had a first down at the Cranford 17, but the drive stalled and Summit settled for a 35 yard Badgley field goal. That provided a bit of breathing room (17-7) to start the 2nd half.

Summit received the 2nd half kickoff and went 58 yards on 6 runs for a score. The running was shared equally between Bringewatt, Kyre Negron and Iarussi with Iarussi covering the final 3 yards. With Summit ahead 24-7 the fans could breath a little easier, but not for long. Cranford went 75 yards in six plays to make it a 10 point game again. Cranford show their offense was explosive as the scoring play was a 47 yard run. The Summit fans got back on their feet when, following the kickoff, Badgley raced 60 yards for a TD on the first play from scrimmage. That made the score 31-14. Summit would score again in the quarter on a 25 yard run by Iarussi. However, Cranford came right back and hit a wide open receiver in the end zone and the quarter ended with Summit ahead by 17 points.

Summit put the nail in Cranford's coffin when Negron hauled in a Bringewatt pass and went 48 yards for a TD on the first play of the 4th quarter. However, Cranford refused to recognize their fate. Cranford returned the kickoff 65 yards to Summit's 35. On the next play they had a player open near the goal line but Badgley made a leaping interception to prevent the score. Colm Dougherty would score again late in the game to make the score 52-21. A very convincing victory that made Summit the Conference Champions!

Bringewatt had a big night completing 11 if 16 passes for 171 yards and running for 82 yards. Iarussi ran for 92 yards, caught a pass for 23 yards and scored three TDs. As is so often the case, Stefano Stadlinger anchored the defense with 13 tackles.
