This was a game of big plays. Mike Badgley set the tone of the game when he took the opening kickoff and returned it 95 yards for a TD. He then kicked the first of his 8 consecutive extra points. On Summit's next possession Luke Stephens made great catch of a pass from Ryan Bringewatt and went 80 yds for the score. But it wasn't all Summit, sandwiched in between those two electrifying scores GL launched a drive that went 73 yards to the Summit 4 and only missed a 1st down at the 4 by inches. With Summit ahead 14-0, GL launched another sustained drive of 67 yards to score. They missed the extra point but made the score 14-6, but showed that they could move the ball against the Summit defense.

Summit scored twice more, a 1 yard plunge by AJ Iarussi (following a 41 yard pass to Badgley that moved the ball to the GL 7 yard line) and a 35 yard pass from Bringewatt to Badgley. However GL showed that they could also make a big play when they scored on a 72 yard pass that made the score 28-14. Summit answered with a 53 yard TD pass to Austin Carbone. One of strangest calls came on GL's next possession . Facing a 4th and 6 on their own 22 yard line they tried a fake punt that ended a foot short of a first down and gave Summit the ball on the GL 28. On the next play Carbone scored to put Summit up 42-14. Undaunted, GL marched 83 yards in 7 plays to score and go to the locker room down 42-21.

Summit scored six times in the half and ran only 19 plays from scrimmage. In contrast, GL scored 3 times and ran 37 plays.

The second half was all Summit as Iarussi scored on a 5 yard run, Nick Watts scampered 31 yards for a TD and Colm Dougherty raced 85 yards to put the frosting on the cake.
