The battle between the two basketball programs in the City of Summit was exciting from the beginning. At the end of each quarter there no more than 2 points difference between the schools. Going into the 4th quarter the score was tied 41-41. Oratory scored the first four points of the quarter but a Ba'Shawn Mickens hit pair of field goals and a 3-pointer to close the gap to 49-48. A field goal by Jon Mendez knotted the score at 50-50 with less than 2 minutes left. Unfortunately Oratory's #14 drained his 5th 3-pointer of the game. Scott Meagher scored a nice reverse layup and Ryan Sweeney scored to give Summit the lead (55-53) with only 6 second left. Everyone assumed that #14 would be the go to player for Oratory and they were correct. He raced down the court, pulled up and scored his 6th trey from well outside the 3 point arc as the buzzer sounded.
Mickens led the Summit scoring with 23 points. Meagher had his best game off the bench with a game high 8 rebounds and 9 points.
