The Hilltoppers took on Roselle Park in their final regular season game, the St. Patrick game having been cancelled. The first half appeared to be a serious mismatch as Summit easily rolled to 28-15 advantage. Five different players contributed to the scoring, led by Ba'Shawn Mickens' 14 points. This game looked like it was in the bag. Unfortunately, Roselle Park came alive from 3 point land while Summit was misfiring. As a result, Roselle Park reduced the comfortable 13 point lead to only four points midway through the 4th quarter. Summit was getting desperate for a score.
A great save and assist by Scott Meagher led to an easy layup by Mickens. That seemed to be a turning point. Micken's scored again at 1:54 to get the lead back to 8 points. A pair of free throws by Jon Mendez, two more by Mickens plus one by Ryan Sweeney clinched the victory.
The final half of the season showed significant improvement as Summit went 5-5 for the final 10 games.
The pairings are out for the State Tournament and Summit did not make it.
