Saturday, Apr 21 12:00PM  Home Ridgefield  (CT) Won 10-5 Ridgefield of CT came to Tatlock sporting an unbeaten record and ranked 3rd in the state of Connecticut. For the first 18 minutes it looked like they were going blow out the Hilltoppers. For most of that time Summit seemed intimidated by Ridgefield who took an easy 4-0 lead. Then everything changed. With 5:29 left in the half Nick Kilkowski got Summit on the board. Then over the next 2 minutes Summit scored 3 quick goals. Austin Carbone, and David Kalin each scored, follwed by Kilkowski's second goal. Summit was back in the game and the half ended 4-4.

Ridgefield won the face off beginning the 2nd half and took advantage of a disorganized Summit defense to go back on top 5-4. However, from that point on it was all Summit. Matt Maier tied the game at 5-5 and Kilkowski scored his 3rd goal to give Summit a 6-5 lead starting the final 12 minutes

Kilkowski scored another goal at 9:23 and A. Carbone scored 43 seconds later and Summit was off to the races. Mike Badgley scored 14 seconds later to give Summit a relatively comfortable 9-5 lead. Kilkowski scored his 5th goal of the day at 3:37 to really put the game out of reach.

Goalie : Summit: Alax Salazar 6 saves, Scott Caputo 2 Saves
Friday, Apr 27 4:00PM  Home Mendham
Won 8-3 Those who came to this game assuming that, with their record, Mendham would be a push over were quickly surprised. Mendham scored first at 7:48 and Nick Kilkowski answered less than 2 minutes later. However, Mendham came right back to retake the lead with 5:21 left in the quarter. Austin Carbone tied the score with a goal with just under 2 minutes to play in the quarter.

Kilkowski gave Summit it's first lead early in the 2nd quarter. Neither team scored for the next nine minutes until Mendham tied the game 3-3 at 1:41.

What ever was said during the half time break certainly had an effect because The Summit defense completely shut down Mendham while Summit scored 5 unanswered goals in the 2nd half. Two more goals were scored by Kilkowski in the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter saw a goal by Tommy Celmer and two by Harry McCreary.

Alex Salazar had 5 saves. It is worth noting that Mendham held Summit to its fewest goals of the season. The Mendham goalie was outstanding and was a major factor in keeping the Summit scoring machine quiet.

Monday, Apr 30 4:00PM  Home Chatham  Won 6-5 This was one of the most anticipated games of the season and it lived up to expectations. Chatham took an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter before Summit got on the board and the quarter ended 2-1. Summit and Chatham traded goals and with 3:03 left in the half Nick Kilkowski scord to tie the score. He scored again at 1:41 to give Summit the lead. Summit would score again and the half ended with Summit on top 5-3.

Each team scored a goal in the 3rd quarter so Summit's 2 goal lead was still intact starting the 4th quarter. No one scored in the final quarter until Chatham scored at the 1:50 mark to make it a one goal difference. Summit won the ensuing face off but lost the ball out of bounds behind the Chatham net. With 30 seconds left Chatham raced up field but missed wide. Alex Salazar intercepted a pass in front of the net and time expired.

Wednesday, May 2 4:00PM  Away Delbarton  Won 9-4 The Summit - Delbarton rivalry is one of the most significant in NJ lacrosse. It was anticipated with much excitement by both schools. Delbarton looked very strong throughout the first quarter. As has been the case in many games against strong opponents, Summit seemed tentative at the beginning. Mid way through the 1st quarter Delbarton broke through and scored twice in the space of 7 seconds and left the Hilltopper fans shocked. The quarter ended with Delbarton ahead 2-0. Summit was held scoreless for the first 15 minutes of the game. Finally, at 8:56 of the 2nd quarter, Nick Kilkowski broke through and scored. Two minutes later Tom Lackaye scored to tie the game. Two minutes before the half Kilkowski scored again and Summit went to the break uo 3-2.

For seven minutes of the 3rd quarter it was a stand off. Then Kilkowski scored his 3rd goal of the game, and Summit had some breathing room. Before the quarter ended Austin Carbone scored an amazing goal from a very sharp angle. The final quarter saw Summit add 3 goals between 5:03 and 1:34 That made it 8-2 with a minute and a half to go. That spree included two more Kilkowski goals and one By David Kalin. Delbarton finally scored with only 1 minute left in the game. Austin Carbone scored Summit's final goal with 11 sec left. The final Delbarton goal was a meaningless goal with 3 seconds on the clock.

Summit's barrage of goals after the 1st quarter came inspite of of the fact that Delbarton won all but one faceoff in the game, and that one was the result of a penalty.

7:30PM Away NJSIAA Group1
Finals vs. Glen Ridge @ Livingston HS
Won 9-8 Summit staved off a furious rally by Glen Ridge to win the the Group 1 Championship and advance to the Tournament of Champions.

Glen Ridge made it clear that they could score when they took the opening faceoff and scored in 44 seconds. David Kalin scored at 9:49 to tie the score. Summit would score 3 more times (Austin Carbone twice and Kalin once more) and held a 4-1 lead with 19 seconds left. However, Glen Ridge showed that they could score quickly by wining the faceoff and scoring in 7 seconds.

The second quarter was a defensive struggle as only one goal was scored by Summit's Harry McCreary. The half ended with Summit ahead 5-2.

The 3rd quarter was all Summit with goals by Matt Maier, Mike Badgley and Kalin. While holding Glen Ridge to to a single goal. That carried Summit into the 4th quarter leading 8-3

The final quarter began with defenseman Tyler Carbonne intercepting a pass and racing the length of the field to score. At that time the Summit fans didn't realize how important that goal would be. Glen Ridge answered that goal within 17 seconds. At that point Summit had a seemingly comfortable 9-4 lead. With 5 minutes left Summit still held that 9-4 lead. Then over the course of just one minute Glen Ridge scored 3 goals and now the lead was only 2 goals. Glen Ridge seemed to have summit out of sync. Glen Ridge scored again and now the lead was 9-8 with a minute and a half left. As you can imagine it was a wild finish. Summit turned the ball over twice in the time, but the defense held and Summit lived to fight another day.

Wednesday June 6 5:00PM Away TOC Semifinals@ Kean vs. Delbarton Lost 5-1 The truth is that Delbarton really dominated this game. From the start they were in control and Summit seemed out of sync both offensively and defensively. Delbarton scored less than a minute and a half into the game and added a second goal 3 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead at the quarter. Three more Delbarton goals in the 2nd quarter made it 5-0 at the half. Delbarton played a very aggressive defense and stifled Summit top scorers.

Late in the 3rd quarter Austin Carbone finally got Summit on the scoreboard. But a scoreless 4th quarter put an end to Summit's championship hopes.

It didn't help that Delbarton won 8 of the 10 face-offs
