When you take on a team that thrashed the number one seed in Union county, you have to expect a tough game. However, tonight that was an understatement. Point Pleasant put on quite a show. On the way to a 50-16 half time lead they drained 9 3-pointers as if it was nothing. What's more, most of the them were from well behind the 3 point line. In addition, they knocked down 10 of 12 free throws in that blistering first half. Summit seemed in shock and contributed a large number of turnovers.
When the dust settled Summit scored its season average of 50 points. Kelly Osmulski finished with 19 points and a career of 1064, placing her 5th in the history of Summit's women's basketball. Kate Martino racked up 13 points to finish her career with 1210 points. This placed her behind only Renee Green (1220) and Lindsay Burns (1382). Quite an accomplishment for both players.
It was a tough way to end a truly great 23-6 season.
