4-2/3 innings of no-hit pitching by Summit starter Cam Fuoti were marred by errors that resulted in two unearned runs in the 4th inning and by a run that scored in the 5th inning on a straight steal of home by Linden's leadoff hitter, who had reached on a walk and stole second, third and home.  Summit had scored two runs to take the lead in the 3rd inning when Andrew George reached on an error, stole a base and scored on a single up the middle by Sean Guida.  Guida moved to 2nd base on a wild pickoff throw, then to 3rd on a wild pitch and scored on another wild pitch by Linden's starter, who struck out 10 Hilltoppers in 6 innings.  After Linden tied the score in the bottom of the 4th, Summit scratched out a run in the 5th inning to regain the lead when Nick Abbott led off with a bunt single, stole second, was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by George and scored on a line drive single by Tanner Fulton.  Unfortunately, Summit could not hold the lead, with Linden scoring one in the bottom of the 5th and two in the 6th.

The game remained in reach at the end of six innings when Summit reliever Rob Carbone, who gave up two hits and an infield error after entering the game, struck out 3 straight hitters to leave the bases loaded.  Down by two runs in the final inning, the Hilltoppers put the tying runners on base with singles by Tanner Fulton and Kyle Brown, but were unable to bring them in.
