Summit was down 3-0 to undefeated (7-0) Newark Academy going into the bottom of the 7th and rallied for 4 runs for the victory. Alec Fuoti, pinch hitting in the 9 position, got things started with a single. Nick Abbott did what a leadoff hitter is supposed to do and managed a walk. Kyle Brown was walked to load the bases with no outs. A single by Tanner Fulton drove in one run and left the bases loaded. Sean Guida worked a walk to drive in the second run. A ground ball fielder's choice by John Flogel drove in the tieing run and left runner at 1st and 3rd. After a walk to Andrew Aguilara, David Berardi hit a deep fly ball to left, Fulton tagged up and scored on the sacrifice fly. A good win against a quality team.
Cam Fuoti pitched 6 very good innings. After giving up 2 runs in the first inning, he had 5 scoreless inning in which he gave uo only 3 hits and struck out 4 batters. Rob Carbone took over in the 7th after Fuoti had thrown 91 pitches.
