Summit took on their strongest rival in our conferece and was victorious in a game almost devoid of earned runs. At the end of five innings Rahway led 5-4 and only one of the nine runs were earned. The game ended 9-6 and a total of 10 unearned runs between the teams.

Rob Carbone got the start for Summit and pitched 4 1/3 good innings giving up only one earned run, but trailing 5-4. Eric Kaufman pitched the final 2 2/3 inning allowing only one unearned run and was credited with the win.

Summit scored two runs in their first at bat. Tanner Fulton singled with two out, Sean Guida was on via an error, as was John floegel (that allowed Fulton to score). Andrew Aguilera walked to load the bases and Guida scored when David Berardi was walked. Rahway gained the lead with 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Rahway added another unearned run in the 4th to take a 2 run lead.

Summit scored two more unearned runs in the top of the fifth. Andrew George led off with a single. Nick Abbott got on via an error and George moved to third on yet another error. Justin Vitti singled. Guida was safe on error by the shortstop but was thrown out trying to stretch it to two bases. All this left the game tied 4-4. Rahway picked up its first earned run of the game in the 5th to regain the lead. Summit put the game away in the 6th. Singles by Floegel, Aguilera, George, and Vitti , combined with a Fine scarifice bunt by Berardi, and a walk to Abbott resulted in 4 real runs. Summit got an insurance run in the top of the 7th. Guida started the inning with a single. A bunt by Floegel, and single by Bredahl finished the game off.
