John Flogel took the mound against one of the best teams Summit has faced this season. They carried an 11-5 record and had reached the semifinals of the Union County Tournament . For 5 innings Flogel pitched an almost perfect game, allowing no hits, no runs and only one base runner. One unearned run in the sixth inning broke the string. Floegel's outing was only the second time a Summit pitcher had gone the full 7 innings this year. He threw only 83 pitches along the way.

Summit scored three run in the first inning when Nick Abbott led off with a single, stole 2nd and scored when Justin Vitti was safe on a error. Sean Guida got on via a fielder's choice and scored on a single by Cam Fuoti. Andrew Aguilera singled to drive in Fuoti. Summit added a run in the second on singles by Andrew George and Vitti. A double by Guida and a single by Cam Fuoti made the score 5-0 in the 3rd. Summit's final run came in the 5th. Tanner Fulton was safe on an error and ultimately scored on a double by Kyle Brown.
