Thursday, Sep 6 4:00PM Upper Tatlock Governor Livingston  Lost 4-2  This season began the same way last season ended, with a loss to a strong Governor Livingston team.  GL jumped to an early 2-0 lead with goals in the sixth and ninth minutes. In the 10th minute, Summit sophomore Eric Reyes cut the advantage by breaking away for a goal tucked just inside the post. In the 37th minute GL scored again for a 3-1 halftime lead. An evenly played second half saw GL score in the 35th minute, answered by a Summit goal in the 37th minute when senior co-captain Nick Abbott headed in a nice corner kick by sophomore Andrew Gutierrez.
Saturday, Sep 8 11:00AM Away Arthur L. Johnson  Won 1-0 in OT  Summit had the better of the play, failing to finish on several good scoring opportunities during the scoreless first and second halves.  In the fourth minute of sudden-death overtime,  Ryan Hughes worked himself free down the right wing and made a perfect centering pass to Nick Abbott, who one-timed the game winner into the far corner of the net.  Goalkeeper Brendan Krain made several saves to preserve the shutout, supported by solid defense from Scott Caputo, Ethan Chivers, Will Snyder, James Strabley and an especially strong performance by Matt Hermann.
Tuesday, Sep 11 4:00PM  Upper Tatlock Plainfield Tied 2-2  In a see-saw first half, Plainfield scored first in the 19th minute, but Summit answered in the 25th minute with Ryan Hughes heading in a centering pass from Will Snyder.  Plainfield scored again in the 29th minute, but Summit leveled the score in the 32nd minute when senior co-captain Scott Caputo drove a shot into the top of the net on a direct free kick from a few feet outside the box.  What followed was a scoreless second half and two scoreless 10 minute overtimes resulting in a tie.
Thursday, Sep 13 4:00PM  Upper Tatlock New Providence  Won 3-2 in OT  Summit controlled the play for much of the scoreless first half, with offensive pressure and a number of scoring chances, including one shot by Nick Abbott that rang off the post in the 27th minute.  The second half began the same way, and Summit broke through to take the lead in the 16th minute when Ryan Hughes threaded a pass through the defenders to a breaking Nick Abbott, whose shot found the top of the net.  In the 19th minute, Hughes got himself free but hit the post after beating all defenders. New Providence tied the score in the 25th minute, converting from in front on a corner kick.  But Ryan Hughes would not be denied, regaining Summit's lead by weaving through several defenders to score in the 29th minute.  It looked like it would end that way, but in the final minute of regulation an inadvertent hand ball in front of Summit's goal gave New Providence a penalty kick, which they scored to force the game into overtime.  Summit came out flying in the overtime, pressing in the New Providence end from the opening whistle until a corner kick in the 6th minute of OT resulted in a mad scramble of players in front of the goal and junior James Holzer slammed in the game winner.
Thursday, Sep 20 4:00PM  Upper Tatlock Jonathan Dayton  Won 2-0  Summit controlled the ball for long stretches of the first half, but Dayton (2-3) had the best two scoring chances when their shots glanced off the crossbar and over the net in the 23rd minute and again in the 33rd minute.  With 2:10 remaining in the half, Summit's broke through when a corner kick by Eric Pzedpelski was headed toward the goal by Matt Hermann to James Holzer, whose header clanked off the crossbar but Holzer finished by kicking his own rebound into the goal.  In the 23rd minute of the second half, a free kick by Ashley Healey was centered to Andre Zeledon, who passed to Ryan Hughes for a score that gave Summit a two-goal lead.  Dayton hit the crossbar again in the 37th minute, but could not score on Summit goalkeeper Brendan Krane (8 saves), who recorded his second shutout of the season with the assistance of defenders Ethan Chivers, Will Snyder, Matt Hermann and James Strabley (as well as the crossbars).  The victory was a demonstration of Summit's depth of talent, with the team playing without senior co-captains Scott Caputo and Will Gerard as a result of injury/illness and losing senior co-captain Nick Abbott to an ankle sprain just after halftime.

Summit goaltender Brendan Krain made a couple great saves in the first half to preserve the shutout, with Nick Zachara taking a turn in goal for the last 8 minutes of the game to complete the blanking of Roselle Park's offense.

Saturday, Oct 13 TBD  Away Union County Tournament Quarterfinal vs. Elizabeth Lost 3-0  Fourth seeded Elizabeth contolled much of the play on their home turf to eliminate the Hilltoppers from the Union County Tournament.  Elizabeth scored in the 25th minute to take a 1-0 halftime lead.  Good pressure by the Summit offense early in the second half working to even the score did not produce a goal, and Elizabeth scored in the 21st minute of the second half and again in the 34th minute to ice the shutout victory.
Tuesday, Oct 16 4:00PM Away Jonathan Dayton
Lost 5-2 Summit never recovered from a slow start where Dayton scored on a header in the 5th minute and made it 2-0 less than a minute later by breaking through the middle of the Summit defense.  In the 12th minute, Eric Reyes scored for Summit to close the gap, but Dayton responded with its third goal in the 15th minute.  In the 38th minute, a long free kick by Will Snyder found the net to again make it a one goal game at halftime.  Any momentum was lost immediately after the second half began, when Dayton scored in the first minute to create a cushion, and very late in the game Dayton added another goal to make the score more lopsided.

NJSIAA Sectional Rnd 1 vs. Morristown Lost 2-1  Summit's season came to an end at home with an evenly played state playoff game that was delayed by almost two weeks by a hurricane and a snow storm.
