Summit's first score came on its second possession. Summit went 52 yards in 3 plays, highlighted by a 42 yard run by Mike Badgley, with AJ Iarussi scoring from the five. Summit's next possession came after a bad punt by North Plainfield put the ball at the NP 29 yardline. Runs by Iarussi and Badgley moved it to the 18 and Charlie Terry hit Badgley for an 18 yard TD. Summit scored again on a 57 yard drive that featured a 48 yard run by Iarussi. Colm Dougherty bulled in from the 1 yard line..

The 2nd quarter began with North Plainfield scoring on a 55 yard pass. The PAT failed and the score stood at 21-6. Following the Kick off Summit started on their 38. A six yard gain by Iarussi was followed by a 38yd run by Andrew Masterfano to the NP 18. However, the drive stalled and Badgley kicked a 28 yard field goal.  North Plainfield returned Badgley's kick off to Summit's 28, a 66 yard return. Five plays later the scored and the score was 24-12. Too close for comfort. Order was restored when Badgley took the kickoff and literally ran through most of the NP defense for 95 yards for the final score of the game.

The 2nd half was scoreless. North Plainfield threatened twice but the Summit defense rose to the occasion each time.
