Summit opened its first season in the Raritan Division of the Mid-State 39 Conference with a resounding victory. The result was clear by the end of the 1st quarter. Summit's first drive moved inexorably down field and when it stalled a bit at the one yard line Tyler Carbone flipped a pass to a wide open Kyre Negron for the score. As usual, Mike Badgley kicked a perfect PAT. The 66 yard drive was keyed by a 41 yard run by Negron. Negron scored on a 16 yard run on Summit's 2nd possession and Nick Liberato capped the 1st quarter by recovering a Somerville punt, blocked by Will Shamim, and returning it 35 yards for a TD. Summit scored on each of its first five possessions. The final three TDs coming on big runs by AJ Iarussi.

Both Iarussi (118 yards) and Negron (132 yards) rushed for more than 100 yards. Colm Dougherty led the defense with 10 tackles.
