Summit 10 20 14 0 44
West Side 0 0 0 6 6

West Side, with only 3 wins, came into the game as a major underdog. This was one of the effects of The NJSIAA's decision to add a 5th Group in football in order to have 20 Sectional Champions instead of previous year's 16. To some extent or another the strength of each Section was diminished. The final score testified to the mismatch.

Summit's second possession started at the Summit 29. AJ Iarussi ran for 10 yards, Mike Badgley ripped off a 27 yard, Iarussi ran for 28 to the West Side 6 and scored on the next play. After forcing a 3-and-out on West Side, Summit was unable to capitalize on a short punt and turned to Badgley to kick a 39 yard field goal to end the quarter up 10-0.

Summit's next possession began on the Hilltopper 46. Badgley ran for 15 and Charlie Terry connected with Badgely for a 29 yard pass to the West Side 17. Iarussi ran for 12 yards to the 5 and took it in for the score on the next play. The next possession started when Badgley took a short punt and returned it 14 yards it the West Side 25 yard line. Runs of 10 yards by Badgley and 11 by Kyre Negron put the ball on the 4. Badgley covered the final 4 yards for the TD.

Summit's final score of the half was set up when Colm Dougherty intercepted a pass at the West Side 25 yard line. On the 2nd play Andrew Masterfano raced 22 yards for the score. The half ended with Summit leading 30-0.

In the second half, Summit kicked off and forced West Side to punt from their 35. Badgley gathered in the ball and returned it 55 yards to score the TD that gave Summit a 37-0 lead and started a running clock (football's version of a "Mercy Rule"). Two plays later West Side fumble and Danny Childers recovered the ball at the West Side 20. Iarussi carried 14 yard to the 6 and Badgley scored on the next play with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

Summit will next play Parsippany Hills, its old rival from The Iron Hills Conference, at Summit on December 1st.
