Brearley came to Summit with a 2-4 record and was a serious underdog, but they were very tenacious. Through the first half they stayed within 5 points. Thirteen points by Ryan Sweeney and 8 by Ba'Shawn Mickens allowed Summit to take a 33-28 lead at the half. Summit increased the lead to 10 points in the 3rd quarter, led by Mac Wiesner (8 points) and Mickens (6 points). Mickens (8 points) and Sweeney (5 points) provided all the 4th quarter scoring and it was enough to maintain the 10 point lead.

Summit had three players in double digits led by Mickens with 22 points, Sweeney with 18 and Wiesner with 10. Robby Walsh and Sweeny each took down 8 rebounds.
