Without Ba'Shawn Mickens Summit started an all Junior lineup. It was a good look at next year's team. Summit enjoyed a noticable height advantage but Colonia made up for it with a very agressive defense that resulted in at least 10 key transition points. Although the result was a loss, it was a very close and exciting basketball game.
The lead changed many times, but at the end of each of the first three quarters Summit held a slim lead. Starting the 4th quarter Summit was up by 2 points 34-32. Colonia opened with a 3-pointer and added a free throw to take a 2 point lead. Robbie Walsh's basket was answered by another tray and a fast break basket. With 4:49 left Summit was suddenly down by five. Mac Wiesner stepped up with a three pointer and two free throws to tie the score at 41. Sadly, those were the last points that Summit would score.Mac Wiesner led the Hilltopper scoring with 18 points and rebounding with 9.
While this was a sad loss, overall the Summit fans were treated to the best season since '04-'05. It was a great ride.
