A large crowd was on hand hoping to see Ba'Shawn Mickens break the the career 1000 point mark. At least one scout for two area colleges was spotted in the scrowd. The fans were not disappointed. Early in the 3rd quarter Mickens delivered and the game was momentarily paused for celebration. Mickens' 14 first half points, along with 9 points by Mac Wiesner and 7 points by Robby Walsh and Ryan Sweeney helped Summit take a nice 39-25 1st half lead.
In the 2nd half Hillside turned up defensive pressure. Summit showed a vulnerability as they had trouble inbounding the ball, leading to an excess of turnovers. At one point Hillside managed to momentarily get to within 6 points, before Summit restored order with 5 points by Mickens and 4 from Wiesner.
Mickens led all scorer's with 24 points. Wiesner (16 points) and Walsh (13 points) were also in double digits. Walsh and Wiesner pulled down 8 rebounds each.
