Summit took on a Johnson team that was winless and the outcome of the game was clear early in the 2nd quarter. The attention then focused on the great shooting night that Ba'Shawn Mickens was having. Before the night was over Micken's broke a Summit High School record. He connected on 9 three pointers to break the record of 7 set by Dwayne Reed in the 2002-03 season. Micken's then went on to score 40 points, exceeding the 39 points by Wellington Smith in the 2004-05 season, but short of the overall record of 46 held by Dwayne Jordan ('77-'78).
Another milestone is coming up as Micken's approaches 1000 points in his career at Summit. He needs only 17 more points to join the select list of five players who have achieved that level.
