| New Providence started strong, relying heavily on the three pointer and a strong zone defense. New Providence nailed six 3s on the way to a 28-20 halftime lead. Summit began to chip away at the lead in the 3rd quarter, led by Ba'Shawn Mickens' 12 points. That moved Summit to within 4 points of New Providence (40-36) starting the 4th quarter. Two free throws by Matt Fischetti, a trey by Pete Cummings and two FGs by Mickens vaulted Summit to a 45-44 lead.with 2 minutes left. A free throw at the one minute mark was answered by NP, Finally , Ryan Sweeney sank 2 free throws in the closing seconds to give Summit its margin of victory. |
