Summit hosted its first Holiday Tournament in a number years and came off with a victory over Nutley. Although it took an overtime session to nail down the victory. Over the first three quarters Summit steadily built a 6 point lead and entered the final 8 minutes ahead 38-32. The scoring was lead by Ba'Shawn Mickens with 17 points and Ryan Sweeney with 14 points.

A pair of free throws by Mac Wiesner and and six points from Mickens took the lead to 7 points with about 3:45 left in the game. However, six unanswered points by Nutley pulled them to within a point (48-47) with 54 seconds left. Mickens was fouled and went to the line and made his 9th and 10th consecutive free throws to give Summit a 3 point lead with 35 seconds on the clock. With only 16 seconds left Nutley inbounded the ball needing a 3 pointer to tie. Summit had a foul left to give before sending Nutley to the foul line, but failed to use it and at the :02.5 mark, Nutley drained a trey to send the game to overtime.

The overtime was all Summit as they held Nutley scoreless while scoring nine points , all on free throws. Sweeney hit three and Mickens, Robbie Walsh and Miesner each contributed two.

Mickens (27 points) and Sweeny (17 points) were both in double digits and Walsh, as usual, was the leading rebounder with 11. Summit

has been on a tear at the foul line. Counting the the fourth quarter of the the Roselle Park game, Mickens has drained 25 of his last 26 free throws

Summit will meet Morristown on Friday at 7PM on Friday in Tournament final. Morristown is 4-0 with victories over Roxbury, Chatham, Princeton and Lincoln.
