It was a cold grey day, with serious rain predicted. It drizzled until late in the 2nd inning when rain fell in earnest.. By then, Summit had taken a 4-1 lead and hoped to get through 5 inning before the game was called. The rain was so heavy that puddles appeared in the 4th, requiring "Diamond Dry" to be applied heavily. The umpires stuck it out and allowed play until Linden had batted in the 5th inning, with Summit on top 7-1.

Sean Guida started and pitched 4 innings, allowing one run on 4 hits and 8 strikeouts. Cam Fuoti came on in relief in the 5th.

Summit's first run came in the bottom of the1st inning when Kyle Brown led off with the first of his 3 walks, moved into scoring position on a passed ball and scored when Guida singled. Summit added 4 more in the 2nd inning. Alec Fuoti got on with a single, Mike Maldonado walked and Hunter Miller singled to load the bases. Kyle Brown drew another walk to force in a run. Guida singled to score two more, and Cam Fuoti singled to score Brown. Summit added two more runs in the 4th inning as Kyle Brown was walked, Guida doubled (his 3rd hit of the game) and an error by the right fielder
