Summit took advantage of a very shaky start by the Plainfield defense and scored five runs on only 2 hits but 4 Plainfield errors. Kyle Brown led off by getting on base on an error, stole 2nd and went to 3rd on a wild pitch. He scored on a single by Tanner Fulton. Sean Guida walked and both Fulton and Guida scored when Cam Fuoti’s fly ball was dropped by the right fielder. David Berardi got on via an error. Both Cam Fuoti and Berardi scored on a two out single by Sam Griffith.

Summit added 3 more runs in the 2nd inning on singles by Hunter Miller, Brown, Guida and Cam Fuoti plus an RBI ground out by John Floegel. The Hilltoppers added a run in the 3rd on singles by David Meyers and Andrew Aguilera. The final Summit run came in the 6th. Pacillo was hit by the pitcher, Alec Fuoti singled and Pacillo scored on a Griffith single.

Alec Fuoti pitched a fine six innings, allowing ony 1 run on 4 hits and 7 strikouts. Junior Charlie Pacillo took over in the 7th and put down Plainfield 1-2-3.
