Summit needed a win to clinch a share of its second consecutive Mountain Division title. While they were successful, scoring a mercy 13-2 victory over an undermanned Roselle team, the game was as dreary as the weather. Under a steady, misty rain Summit managed only 4 hits for a team batting average of .174 while scoring 11 unearned runs on 6 walks, 2 hit batters and 8 Roselle errors.

Sam Griffith went 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 rbis , Jake Mokuvos chipped in with an RBi double and Robbie Faris added a single. Summits pitching was equally uninspiring. David Meyers earned the starting nod . He pitched the 1st giving up a run on 2 hits. Mike Maldanado followed him with an adventuresome inning that included 2 walks, a hit and 3 wild pitches and a run to go along with 2 strikeouts. Making his Varsity debut Jake Mokuvos pitched the 3rd and 4th innings, striking out 5 while only allowing 1 hit and a walk. The final inning saw Brian Cantillo pitching effectively to close out the win.

A win in Summi's final game next week against Hillside clinches sole possession of the conference title.( Reported by Rich Berardi)
