The first half was unusual in that the Summit defense struggled to contain the Delaware Valley running game. Each time a Del Val drive was ended, either via a turnover or a punt or a touchdown, the Summit offense responded quickly with big plays and a touchdown. For example, during the half Del Val ran off 39 plays in five possessions and garnered only 1 touchdown. Summit required only 19 plays in five possessions to rack up five TDs and a 33-7 half time lead.

Del Val's first drive ended on the Summit 17 with a fumble. On the next play Colm Dougherty exploded for a 78 yard run that ended on the Del Val 5 yardline. Two play later Chris Zanelli was in the end zone. Two penalties and a fumble forced Del Val to punt on their second posession. Drew Mulholland returned the punt to the Summit 45 yardline. On the next play Zanelli raced 55 yards for the score. Del Val's third drive ended when Zanelli intercepted a pass in the Summit endzone. Summit took over on their 20. A 10 yard run by Caleb Sink and a 45 yard pass from Sink to Masterfano gave Summit a first down at Del Val 24 yard line. A bad spot by the refs stopped the drive on the 15 yardline. However, on the next play Del Val fumbled and Will Delaney scooped up the ball and raced 10 yards to score, and Summit was up 21-0.

Del Val took the next kickoff at their 39 yard line and mounted a 12 play drive that netted their only score of the half with 3:00 left. Masterfano returned the kickoff 44 yards to the Del val 46. A 16 yard pass from Charlie Terry to Dan Childers and a 30 yard pass to Masterfano put Summit in the endzone again with 1:51 left. Summit surprised many of the fans when they used their timeouts to stop the clock in an attempt to get the ball back before time expired. They succeeded and took possession on the Summit 31 with just over a minute left. A 16 yard pass to Masterfano, a 15 yard penalty on Del Val, a 10 yard pass to C. Sink and a 27 yard pass to Masterfano gave Summit it's 5th TD with 16 seconds left. It was an amazing show of offense and gave Summit a 33-7 lead.

The 2nd half began with Del Val mounting a sustained drive that looked to be headed for a score when Will Huck intercepted a pass on the Summit 9 yard line. Summit proceeded to launch it longest drive of the game, 91 yards in 10 plays, ending with Zanelli taking it in from the 12. Summit would score again early in the 4th quarter when Dougherty bulled his way in from the 1. That started a running "mercy" clock and the game was over quickly
