Summit’s reward for reaching the Sectional Final was to play Newark Eastside, the No. 1 ranked team in the state. The outcome was not unexpected, but it didn’t tarnish the fact that this was a season of great accomplishment for Summit. This was only the third 20 win season in 39 years. It was a very balanced team with every starter capable of being the leading scorer in a game. The team defense was exemplified by the brilliant second half against Colonia. The nine seniors will be sorely missed.
