Playing their 3rd game in four days, and trying to rebound from a tough loss to Elizabeth the night before, seemed to sap the energy from the Hilltoppers. This was the most desultory outing of the season. The first half ended with Summit ahead 15-13. Summit managed only 6 points in the 3rd quarter as West Essex, who seemed to garner most of the rebounds, took a 24-21 lead. Summit was unable to solve the West Essex zone and West Essex outscored Summit 21-13 in the final quarter. WE was helped by hitting 12 of 15 free throws in the final quarter.
Summit’s statistics tell the story. Free throws: 4 of 11. Shooting percentage 27%. Three point shooting: 2 of 12 attempts (17%), Rebounds 18.
Robbie Walsh led the scoring with 10 points and also had 10 rebounds
