Summit and Cranford had met twice in the regular season and each had won once. So it figured that this would be a struggle, and it was. Summit managed a 4 point lead at the half, thanks to 12 points from Cassidy O’Malley and 7 points by Maddie Gramigna. Cranford came back strong in the 3rd quarter to grab a 39-38 lead starting the 4th quarter. Summit started fast in the final quarter. A FG by O’Malley, a FG and a free throw by Kyla Houston, two free throws by Jenny Martino and a field goal and free throw by Gramigna allowed Summit to take a 48-41 lead. Cranford came back and got to within 2 points (52-50) with less than a minute to go. A Gramigna field goal put the game away. O’Malley (19 points) and Gramigna (15 points) led Summit’s scoring. Summit will travel to Nutley on Wednesday to take on the 3rd seed | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
