Cam Fuoti and Will Schaffer combined on a 2 hit shutout to start the season. Cam Fuoti got the startand pitched the first 5 inning to get the win. Schaffer came on in the 6th and continued the shutout.
Summit picked up a unearned run in the 1st when Kyle Brown and Matt Murdock led off with back to back singles. Brown got to third on a throwing error by the Brearley pitcher and scored on a sacrifice fly by Alec Fuoti. Summit’s 2nd run came when Charlie Pacilio and Schaffer were walked and Kyle Kanaley laid down a fine sacrifice bunt to move them to 2nd and 3rd. Pacilio scored on an infield ground out by Brian Cantillo.
Summit added 3 more runs in the 5th behind singles by Cantillo, Murdock and A Fuoti and walks to Brown and Cam Fuoti, The final run was scored in the 6th inning. A walk to Brown, a Brearly error and a single by Murdock did the job.
Murdock led the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBIs
