The Summit vs. New Providence rivalry played out under lights on Summit's artificial truf field. It was a festive evening and included honoring the graduating Seniors and their parents.

Summit looked good garnering 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st innning. Alex Crane shut down the Pioneers in the first two innings. Then came the crazy 3rd inning. New Providence scored 6 runs, all charged against Crane. He left the game when 3 runs were in and the bases were loaded with two outs.. Brian Cantillo took over and pitched to three batters giving up a single and two walks before Kyle Kanaley came in to get the final out and stop the bleeding. Kanaley would go on to hold the Pioneer scoreless for the next two inning. It turned out that 5 innings would be enough. Summit racked up 8 runs in the bottom of the 3rd , 3 runs in the 4th and two unearned runs in the 5th to win 16-6. Kanaley picked up the win.

Summit’s three runs in the 1st resulted from a leadoff single by Kyle Brown, a triple by Cam Fuoti, an RBI single by Will Schaffer, and a double by Charlie Pacilio.

The 8 run 3rd inning resulted from Singles by Brown,Matt Murdock and Hunter Miller, doubles by Alec Fuoti, and Schaffer, a walk to Robby Faris and a hit batter(Jason Schneider). Three more scored in the 4th when Faris and Brown singled, Murdock got on via an error, and C. Fuoti singled. That left the score 14-6. The final 2 runs in the 5th were unearned and resulted from 3 NP errors and two walks.
