Alec Fuoti was the starting pitcher but wasn’t quite as sharp as usual. In the first 3 innings he ran his pitch count up to 75 and had walked three and hit 2 batters. While the score was still 2-2,the decision was made to bring on Alex Crane. Crane pitched the final 4 inning giving up only 1 run and only 1 hit and was credited with the win.
Summit came on strong in the 5th with 3 runs to take a 5-3 lead. With one out, Matt Murdock singled, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and scored on Cam Fuoti sacrifice fly. A double by Alec Fuoti and singles by Will Schaffer and Charlie Pacilio scored two runs and put Summit on top 5-2. With 2 out Oratory changed pitchers and a strike out ended the inning. Things came unglued for Oratory in the 6th. Summit drew three consecutive walks followed by a hit batter, another walk but all that produced only one run. However, singles by Schaffer and Hunter Miller drove in three more to give Summit a 10-3 lead. Summit scored two more in the 7th. Robby Faris singled , Kyle Brown walked and a Murdock single loaded the bases. Back-to-back sacrifice flys by Cam Fuoti and Alec Fuoti scored two more runs.
In the 2nd inning Cam Fuoti smashed a huge home run to left center and into a stiff wind. It was really something!
