The second meeting between Summit and Oratory was bit of a messy slug fest. There were 22 hits, 6 errors, 12 walks and 18 runs between the two teams. Fortunately, Summit came out on the winning side. Oratory scored three unearned run in the first two innings while Summit batted around in both their first two innings, producing 8 runs and an 8-3 lead after 2 innings. Both sides scored two more runs in the third inning so the score was 10-5 going into the 4th inning. Summit added one more in the 5th and Oratory added a run in each of the 5th,6th and 7th innings but couldn’t get closer than 4 runs.

Summit padded their averages with 16 hits and 11 runs. That was somewhat offset by the fact that the Hilltoppers also coughed up 4 error. Brian Cantillo was the starting pitcher and earned the win. He was aided on the mound by Alex Crane, Kyle Kanaley and Charlie Pacilio.

This is the next to last regular season game because the The Saturday Linden game has been canceled.

Summit will travel to Nutley on Monday for the 1st Round of the NJSIAA North 2 Group 3 Section
