Summit made its annual trip to the home of NY Yankee’s Staten Island minor team. As always the foe was Parsippany. The setting is great and the kids seem to get quite a kick out of playing in that lovely environment.

Cam Fuoti drew the starting pitching assignment. He pitched his best game of the season. For the six innings he pitched, he allowed only 3 hits and no runs. By the end of the 6th inning his pitch count had reached 96. With the score Summit 4 Parsippany 0, Alex Crane come on for the final inning. However he struggled with his control. A walk, a fielding error and another walk loaded the bases with no outs. Suddenly the tying run was at the plate. Sophomore Grant Douglas, recently brought up from the JVs, replaced Crane on the mound. The first batter he faced hit into a 1-2-3 double play. The second laced a shot at C. Fuoti who whipped the ball to 1st for the final out.

Summit got a run in the 1st when C, Fuoti was safe on a error and Alec Fuoti doubled to score his brother. Another run came in the 2nd inning. Robby Faris was on via an error and eventually scored on a Brian Cantillo single. Summit's final two runs were in the 6th. Faris walked after one out. Hunter Miller singled and Faris got the 3rd. Faris scored on a wild pitch that also moved Miller to third. He then scored on a rare balk.
