Home Runs: Fuoti, A(1)
Summit played Plainfield on a very windy morning that barely got to 50 degrees. It was so windy that play had to be paused a couple of time to let it die down. Junior Alex Crane got the starting nod. After a shaky start, in which loaded the bases with three straight walks in the 1st inning, he settled down. He got the side out. He went on to finish 4 innings, allowing only one hit and one run. Brian Cantillo pitched the last three innings. Four runs were charged to him, but only one was earned.

The game was not a thing of beauty as 8 errors were committed, 3 by Summit and 5 by Plainfield. Summit took a 3-0 lead in 2nd inning on hits by Alec Fuoti, Will Schaffer and Jason Schneider. Summit had 2 more in the third when Matt Murdock was on via an error, took 2nd on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error by the catcher. The second run of the inning was a towering home run blast by Alec Fuoti over the left field fence. Summit’s final run resulted from a walk to Schneider who stole 2nd and scored on a single by Kyle Brown. Brown scored on an error by the center fielder.

Plainfied scored once in the 4th and once in the 5th. They made the game close when they added three unearned runs in the 6th as the result of 2 Summit errors.
