This was a must win game for Summit if it was to have any chance of competing for the conference championship. It looked like a win for Summit right up to the final buzzer. With 15 seconds left on the clock Summit held a 41-40 lead and was in the double-bonus. They needed to inbound the ball, kill a little clock and take a foul. But, Summit failed to get the ball in bound and Gov. Livingston had a final life. A 3 pointer banged off the rim, but Summit couldn’t get the rebound. GL kicked the ball out and fired again. With the ball in the air the buzzer sounded and the ball ripped through the net. Oh, the heartbreak!
The game was close from the start. Tied 10-10 at the first quarter and 27-27 at the end of the 3rd quarter. With less than 60 seconds left Patrick Maloney scored to give Summit a 41-37 lead. GL scored and a foul was called with 15 seconds left. They made the foul shot and set up the sad ending.
