Summit @ J. P. Stevens 12/26/2014
 1st 2nd 3rd 4th TOTAL
Summit 4 13 8 35 60
J. P, Stevens 9 7 8 21 45
This was truly an unusual game. Summit began badly and allowed J.P. Stevens to take a 9-0 lead in the first quarter. Summit managed a pair of field goals by Michael Kaelin so the quarter ended 9-4. Summit managed a bit better with 13 point (7 of the points on free throws) in the 2nd quarter to go ahead 17-16. The lackluster production continued in the 3rd quarter with both teams scoring 8 points. So the Hilltoppers claimed a one point lead (25-24), but it was anyone’s game starting the 4th quarter.

The whole game turned on its head as Summit scored an amazing 35 points in the final eight minutes to win going away. Kaelin scored 11 of his game high 22 points, Dan Montgomery and Jordon Gonzales added 7 each, Wayne Wong and Gary West posted 4 each and Patrick Maloney added 2. It was astounding.

Interestingly, the two big men (Maloney and Kalin) were both on the court for most of the 2nd quarter. A pairing that appeared to be very effective.

Summit will meet the winner of the Ewing/Immaculata game in the semifinals. The game is set for 5:30 Dec. 29.
