Summit, the 14th seed, traveled to 3rd seeded Mendham in the opening round of the North 2 - Group 3 Sectional tournament. Summit battled the heavily favored Minutemen fairly even for three quarters, but were eventually overwhelmed in the 4th quarter by the taller Mendham squad.

The first quarter ended tied 11-11. For the 2nd time this year Jordan Gonzalez scored all of Summit’s 1st quarter points. The low scoring 2nd Quarter left Mendham ahead by 1 at 18-17. Mendham began to pull away in the 3rd quarter outscoring Summit 13-10. In the final 8 minutes Mendham scoring 22 to the Hilltopper’s 13.

Gonzalez led Summit’s scoring with 17 points. The season ended with a .500 record (12-12) and the Summit Fans were treated to a lot of exciting basketball. It is sad to say goodby to our three Senior stalwarts; Jordan Gonzalez, Patrick Maloney and Dan Montgomery
