Summit traveled to Morris Knolls for the first time in recent history and almost blew what should have been a much easier victory. Summit escaped with a win while having its worst shooting night of the season. Summit connected on only 20 of 69 attempts for 29%. From 3 point land the Hilltopers connected on only 2 of 15 shots (13%). On the plus side, Summit’s aggressive defense produced lots of turnovers and kept Summit in the lead for the entire game.
Summit entered the final quarter up by ten points, but some sloppy play allowed Morris Knolls to close to withing 2 points with 41 seconds left. Wayne Wong managed to hit 4 consecutive free throw to restore order .
Jordan Gonzalez had a team high 14 points (8 rebounds) and Patrick Maloney scored 12 (7 rebounds), Will Schafer hauled in 9 rebounds
