Summit traveled to Union Catholic to take on the heavily favored Vikings. Summit was forced to play without their point guard, Wayne Wong, putting Summit at a disadvantage from the start. Union Catholic took early command as they went 5 for 5 from three point land in the first few minutes of the game and led 47-28 at the half. Summit out scored Union Catholic in the 3rd and 4th quarters and actually got to within 5 points late in the last minute of the game.
Even though the Hilltoppers lost, there were some positive aspects. The starting five play a strong, balanced, game with all five scoring 10 or more points. Will Schaffer and Dan Mongomery led the team with 13 points each and Patrick Maloney had 9 rebounds.
