Summit’s 2016 season began with the sun shining in the 70's and ended in a thunder storm. Fortunately the thunder waited until a “complete” game had been achieved. Alex Crane got the starting nod and only allowed one hit over the three innings he pitched. Unfortunately, in the 3rd inning he ran into trouble finding the plate. A combination of walks and wild pitches led to 3 runs. However, The Summit offense produced six runs in the first two innings. So, Crane left the mound after 3 innings with a 6-3 lead. Tim Colao pitched the final three innings allowing only one more hit and no runs.

The offense got off to a good start. Singles by Robbie Faris and Will Schaffer led to two runs, batted in by a double by Grant Douglas and a single by Ben Lim. Summit added four more in the second. Andrew Miller led off with a double and moved to 3rd on Max Model’s single. Matt Murdock singled to drive in Miller and a ground rules double by Schaffer drove in Model and Murdock. Schaffer scored the 4th run on a wild pitch. Summit added two more runs in the 4th. Faris walked followed by back to back doubles by Schaffer and Douglas. Summit final run resulted from a walk to Kanaly, a single by Jason Schneider, a walk to Miller and a Colao sacrifice fly.
