Alex Crane got the starting nod. But ran into a lot of 1st inning travail. He faced 9 batters without allowing a hit. Unfortunately he walked 3 batters and hit 2. His team mates provided 2 errors and ultimately allowed 4 runs to cross the plate. Matt Mormile came on in relief to get the final out of the inning.
Mormile was the story of the game. He pitched the final 5 1/3 innings of the game. He allowed no runs and only 2 hits to pick up the win. The Summit offense had a field day generating 15 run on 15 hits including a double (Grant Douglas), 2 triples ( Matt Murdock and Will Schaffer) and the first home run of the season by Andrew Miller.
